Nilfisk pressure washer problems

The only other thing then I can think off is to prime the PW first by connecting it via a traditional hosepipe. There is an official Nilfisk video on YT showing the use of the water inlet hose that shows them using the washer with a standard hose first. Although I'm not sure how this works as you have to let the pressure out before you can remove the hose anyway.JuzaMum said:
Yes it has that exact hoseshiraz99 said:
Does the hose have a filter attached to then end you place in the water?JuzaMum said:The hose came with the washer and screws on. I have tried varying the height. Tomorrow I will try filling the hose with water before attaching it.
Eg, similar to this - https://www.cleanstore.co.uk/products/Product.asp?ID=13938

With 'priming', I understand it's a case of the pump impeller having a clearance gap which requires a more viscous fluid before it can draw - something that fills that gap. Air ain't, so it cannot effectively suck it - the gap is just too large to draw the air, or the air too thin.
Once water fills the impeller/case gap, it seals it by being thick enough, so it works.1 -
I have tried filling the hose before use but it still didn't work. I attached a hose and the motor died!0

It might be worth trying attaching it to a normal hose, with the pressure washer turned off but the water on. Then pulling the trigger and checking that it isn't spluttering. If it does it's air locked. You need to run water through it until it stops spluttering and then turn the unit on and see if it runs normally. Some people don't exaggerate........... They just remember big!0

I think OP may have fixed it by now as it was over 2 years ago, the thread being resurrected by a spammer. Feel free to click report spam on their post and they will disappear.Kiran said:It might be worth trying attaching it to a normal hose, with the pressure washer turned off but the water on.
