Hi
I was with the AA for ages, then got seriously aggrieved by there being no loyalty shown to long term customers and new ones getting cheaper memberships. This year I went to Green Flag, but that is very soon up for renewal and I am looking to see the best option. I want it to be based on any vehicle I am using, and to get me home if broken down, not just to a nearby garage.
Who has any recommendations? Many thanks in advance.

I use Nationwide bank account cover @ £13 pmRemember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.0

The AA are a joke for renewals, I have a family membership for 4 people.
We switch who takes it out each year, that way we always get the best price.
As of today top cover for 4 is £129.50, plus Quidco or topcashback.
Everything but European cover.
Topcashback is £65 so should work out at £64.50 or £16.12p each.1 -
I recommend RAC Ultimate cover - only £70 with Tesco Clubcard vouchers. I've got it on the personal rather than by car so I'm covered whatever car I'm driving like yourself.
It has more than paid for itself, I've had 4 callouts in the past 2 years - of which 2 repaired at roadside and two towed to a garage of my choice.
Covers home and roadside, priority phone line, onward travel to anywhere and taxi or hire car for 7 days while mine is in for repair which I have used twice so it has more than paid for itself.
They've always got to me under an hour, quickest was 25 mins when I was on the hard shoulder in the dark.0 -
I signed up with green flag full cover, recovery to anywhere and home start for £22 a year. Yes it only covers my car and there is a £40 excess but still, ultra cheap and my car is new enough that I don’t expect to have a need for lots of call outs.

I use autoaid for £60 which covers my spouse and all vehicles for platinum cover.0

I look for the best price every year. For a few years on the trott, Start Rescue beat the rest. This year, surprisingly, RAC had the best deal which I took including battery cover.
Last time I looked, RAC were more expensive than when I renewed. Just proves that the price is dynamic.0
