Plustnet porting issues

I've recently swap sims to Plusnet and they cannot port my old number over because of 'ongoing issues' apparently this has been going on for a week or so affecting many people. They've told me they don't know what the problem is and don't know when it will be fixed. So I'm stuck with a new number and not contactable by business who have my original number and have no data, yet they are still selling sims to people who want to port old numbers. Surely this is illegal.

Can't you set up call forwarding temporarily, so that businesses contacting you can reach you?0
