David Wilson New Built houses
Comments
-
Several people I knew bought new builds from a regional builder and there were some "horror stories".
60 years later these houses are still standing and the estate is still popular. Nothing changes! If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales1 -
TripleH said:Our estate is very different. There were 2 distinct phases to the development. We are on the newer one. Yes we have 6 houses all in a row identical, followed by 6 more all identical but different to the first 6.It's the property onthe end that is completely unique I don't get.The older part have other different houses on it to ours.
The new build estate we are on now has so many more different house types to choose from with different materials used along the streets to break them up.
Our detached plot stands on a prominent corner in the estate and has a matching twin on the opposite corner but the remainder of the properties we can see are all different in style, height and type.0 -
It’s the same on this estate, lots of different house types. Even the ones that are the same type have different features eg render, boarding, plain brick etc.
We even have fake chimneys which seems like a nonsense to me but apparently is a local planning thing!0 -
I met salesperson of David Wilson home and asked a question, "When buying a brand new average car costing around £30,000 - £40,000, It comes with at least 3 years manufacturer warranty. Some car manufacturer goes even for 5 years. And here is a band new house costing at least 10 times the price of car, and yet the manufacturer warranty is just 2 years?". The answer I got was, "Our houses are top quality, robust and solid, we don't need to give more than 2 years warranty." I controlled my chuckle at this logic somehow. It turns out that every home builder give just 2 years warranty and then backed by 10 years NHBC insurance. But seriously, just 2 years manufactures warranty from house builders? A car has much less life than a house. It has to bear more wear and tear than a house. And there is always a fear being caught in an accident whenever you are out driving.
Looks like car manufacturer are more confident about their quality than house builders.
