Rattan Garden Furniture

We are looking to get some new outdoor furniture and I've seen an rattan set that I really like, however, my husband has had that rattan furniture can't be kept outdoors over winter even with a protective weather cover as the rattan will rot from the bottom up.
Can any advise if this is the case and if I will need to knock on the head getting rattan furniture? Unfortunately we haven't got a large enough shed that would be able to store it over winter nor a conservatory or the like.

Plastic rattan or wood rattan? My plastic rattan furniture has been left out for years and plastic definitely won’t rot from the bottom up? It’s designed to be left outside xI’m a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Competitions Time, Shopping & Freebies boards, Employment, Jobseeking & Training boards If you need any help on these boards, do let me know. Unlike rattan, there is no possibility for liquids to get inside the material and it is also less prone to be damaged by UV rays. This protects your furniture from harm caused by the weather and makes it easy for you to care for it.I’m a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Competitions Time, Shopping & Freebies boards, Employment, Jobseeking & Training boards If you need any help on these boards, do let me know. Polyrattan is fine to be left outside, I keep mine in the garden all year round.0

I've had (admittedly rather expensive, bought from Lazy Susan) black polyrattan furniture outside for ten years, there is a little UV damage now, but absolutely no sign of rot.I’m a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Competition Time, Site Feedback and Marriage, Relationships and Families boards.
