Leicester General Hospital - don't risk it

The car park was only half full but I counted 21 cars with tickets. So please don't risk it because it looks like a quiet day

I'd have said in the title 'Complete scam site'.

21 tickets says more about the parking scam than the drivers, who are most likely genuine visitors or hospital staff.  This is not about trespassers taking risks.  It's 21 victims.

It means something about the signs just is not clear enough, or the payment machine is not working, or the staff have permits but insufficient spaces and are being rinsed by the parking company.

I agree, totally unnecessary and unfair.

It does say on the notice board something like 'The 30 minutes free parking is no longer available'. I don't know when it changed but I suspect this has caught some people out

One of many things that grind my gears about the parking industry is their propensity to remove terms that are helpful to consumers.

Such as a free 30 minute period at a hospital which would enable people to go in to briefly query an appointment, etc., or to pick up or drop off a patient.

There is no way the Hospital ordered that to be taken away, any more than retailers suddenly decide overnight, to reduce free parking time from 3 hours to 90 minutes in large shopping parks.

ALL these scam changes are dreamed up by PPCs then dressed up in glossy 'rich data' ANPR reports for their clients as if the reduction in time will increase footfall, stop purported 'abuse' and they paint it as though it's a good thing.
