IWeb Email Scam

I've just received a fairly plausible-looking link from a youinvest.co.uk domain name telling me that my account has been unlocked and asking me to contact them.
I've phoned iWeb and they know nothing about it. They seem pretty relaxed about it, but said they'd let their web team know.
I thought iWeb customers might like to know there's an email scam doing the rounds.

Excuse the ignorance but what's the connection between iWeb and a Youinvest email? It looks like Youinvest is a brand of AJ Bell so I'm confused where iWeb comes in?Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.0

AJ Bell run the pensions administration for iWeb, so there is a connection that may lead to some people into wrongly thinking it was kosher.

I have an iWeb SIPP administered by AJ Bell (as mentioned by Mothman above). No email for me. Strange scam email to say your account has been "unlocked". Why would you care if it is unlocked - that is its natural state? I would expect something telling you it had been "locked". Either way I guess it is to encourage you to click on a false link or contact a false number.
Either way, easy enough to log in an see if all looks well.0 -
Most likely that it's random and only relevant to the few people with accounts. Much the same as the millions sent out to people with HSBC (or whatever brand chosen) accounts but most who receive it don't bank there.lozzy1965 said:I have an iWeb SIPP administered by AJ Bell (as mentioned by Mothman above). Thanks for the info, I'm with iWeb and haven't seen an email eitherRemember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.0 -
I have a text from IWeb asking me to call them 'when convenient' to discuss something but on checking the address it comes from $iiweb. Not sure about this so haven't called.0
