Travel insurance scam?

I tried to take out travel insurance with Now Travel Insurance, and completed all the steps in the process and had the money taken out of my bank, but never received the email confirmation or policy number. After emailing and phoning them several times in the lead up to the holiday, I didn’t receive any contact from them.Every time I phoned I was on hold for half an hour and was told that someone would phone me back and they never did.
 The holiday has now been and gone and I still want my money back. Now when I try to phone the company it won’t even let me connect the call. I’m wondering if they have gone bust, or it’s all a scam. I don’t know what to do.

they seem to be pretty good at replying to negative comments on Trust Pilot, maybe leave a review and let them get in touch with you?

Taking the lack of policy number aside. You took out holiday insurance, went on holiday using said cover and want a refund of the policy?

Or did you take alternative insurance because you could not confirm that you were actually covered by Now Travel?

I had to take out alternative holiday insurance because apart from that money taken from my account, I have yet to receive a single email from them, so I don’t think my policy even existed

How did you pay? And when?
you might be able to do a chargeback.
