Do ŷou have an alibi for the date he said it happened? e.g. train ticket or credit card purchases elsewhere?
No I don’t. But the claimant gave the wrong date. I enquired about the time they must have put on, the claimant hadn’t mentioned the timer either, nor did they mention what exact damage was caused in the claim.
I provided my insurer with the correct date, and time (not exact) but in between the incident had happened.
I think you are potentially mistaking what their insurers have told your insurers with what the TP has told their own insurers.
The third party insurer may have a large amount of information about the claim but many insurers only send a skeleton letter to the other insurer saying they are holding them liable for the above incident. It is when your insurers go back saying its in dispute etc that further info sharing occurs.

Ah, well you are kind of stuffed now because you admitted there was an incident.
Would have been best to just say you didn't hit him and let his lack of evidence and wrong date scupper his claim.
