Paying shortfalls in my NI record

On 13 / 04 / 22 I sent  a voluntary  payment online tp HMRC for a shortfall in my NI contributions to make up the full year where I had only paid 49 weeks . I checked my State Pension forecast today 19 / 4 / 22 and the payment that I made did not show up on the forecast

My question is how long does it take until the voluntary payment that I made shows up on my State Pension forecast record ?

Only two of those six days have actually been working days so that's no time at all really, but in any event it'll be more realistic to have expectations of months rather than days or even weeks....

6 weeks for me, but they were full years and so possibly easier to check than a part year.

6 weeks for me, so I would diarise it and check in  5 or 6 weeks after the payment date
    Credit card debt - NIL
Home improvement secured loans 30,130/41,000 and 23,156/28,000 End 2027 and 2029
    Mortgage 64,513/100,000 End Nov 2035
2022 all rolling into new mortgage + extra to finish house. 125,000 End 2036
  • We made a vol payment earlier this year, we were then told we had to wait 8-12 weeks and re-call back to have the payment allocated towards the correct year. Which we diaried and did when we could

I paid 6 years NI back payments at the beginning of January, they still haven't shown up in my pension statement. 4 months to go till I start receiving it, I'll probably be spending a lot of time "hanging on the telephone" in the coming months.

You should probably call tax office now and they'll add it to your record immediately otherwise you won't get the correct pension and you'll then be calling about that too. I had that problem. My NI record was updated but not soon enough.

I rang them up, the money has just been sitting in their account for 3 months. It's now been allocated to the relevant tax years, it will take 6 - 8 weeks before it shows up on my NI records. Hopefully before I get my letter.

After 4 months we rang them up to be told the money had been received a long time ago, but not applied to the account. The agent said she would get it done immediately and sure enough everything appeared a few days later.
