Dartford Toll Fine

Ok, my crazy bad luck spiral continues.
So I forgot to pay the toll before in my old car and was let off as it was the first time I had done it in the car registered to me.
Now I have gone and done it again.
The question is I have a different car with different reg now, does the first time offence apply to the new car reg I have now or my address?
Thanks

I was hoping the fine is applied to the number plate, if so I may get the first time offence letter so get off with just paying the toll.
Or if its against my address, or drivers license I wont get away with first time fine.

I've never fallen foul of the Dartford people, but I can't see why they would ask for your licence details.Jobfromhome said:

So if they are going by car reg, hopefully ill get the first time offence where I get to pay just the toll fee.[Deleted User] said:

No, I didn't say that. Presumably they have your name and address.Jobfromhome said:

I think you'll find if Jo Bloggs of 1 High Street has had a warning, they won't get a second irrespective of the vehicle. They get the keeper details from the DVLA

so doesn't matter whose driving the registered keeper will cop it.

That's correct. It's the same with parking tickets, bus lane fines and other decriminalised penalties.Jobfromhome said:so doesn't matter whose driving the registered keeper will cop it.
(For some of those it's technicalky the owner who is liable, who is assumed to be the RK unless the RK can provide evidence to the contrary. But IIRC for the Dartford Crossing it's the RK full stop.)0 -
When I had the fine through recently it was specific that first offence on a registration gives you the chance to pay up the toll without the fineJobfromhome said:
