Would the company that carried out the works have a copy of the certificate ..I don't know much about PRC's so not sure if their is a database where you can get a copy certificate
when did you buy your house as deeds are no longer in the paper form & haven't been since early 90's ..

The company was Tarmac Construction and I believe that they are no longer in existence. I asked the local council but they don't keep any record going back to 1987.0

Most conveyancing firms send the customer all their documents to look after. So, is it possible that you have the certificate somewhere? There’s really no reason why the solicitor would have kept it.No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0

The question is whether the price you can expect is sufficient to let you move on. You'd need a surveyor's opinion on that.Have the panels been removed and replaced with bricks or that sort of change? What about your neighbours; were their houses done at the same time?

Presumably there's going to be some way of determining what was done to it and its current condition (not sure how much reliance would be placed on a certificate from 35 years ago anyway, especially if issued by an entity which no longer exists) - it obviously isn't actually the case that you "cannot sell the house" just because a bit of paper has gone missing.0

There are companies that will give a retrospective certificate. Some seem to charge around £1000. I have no idea whether lenders accept these certificates, but it’s worth looking into.
You can sell to a cash buyer without the certificate, but probably only for two thirds of the usual amount. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
I can't sell my house as don't have prc certificate my house was rebuilt by tarmac in 95 prc certificates didn't become legal until 2012 the council who owned the house are being about as useful as chocolate fireguard but as I've told them I'm left with unsellable house. Prc certificate firm want 1495 and it's not the type that my buyers want .they need one that's been agreed by nationwide and apparently mines done by what's called a Halifax scheme I've threatened to sue council they've just said nothing we can do.0
