Left item on flight to Miami

Wondered if anyone can point me in the right direction.
We flew Heathrow to Miami yesterday. My daughter left her journal (A4 lined notebook that she's been using as a diary all year) on the plane when we landed in Miami, possibly in the holders in front of the seat. Only realised this morning
I've been trying to see if I can find who you contact for lost property in the hope of getting it back but I'm struggling.
Can anyone help with who I contact.
Thanks

I would guess the Airline would be the first point of call.
Come on you Irons1 -
You have not mentioned the airline so may need to do some searching. This is what I found for British Airways -

Oops it is British Airways0

So it should be their ground handler at Miami (possibly Swissport) on 305-869-4608.1

Hi, the BA information for April 2022 is as Westin, above, says. It's on the list here -

Scroll down to Miami. I think I read somewhere that they keep items for 90 days so hopefully you'll be able to retrieve the journal.

You can try the airline and the airport but my experience of items left on planes is they are usually lost forever. The airline will blame the ground handler, the airport will blame the airline. Planes are cleaned so quickly these days that anything left behind will likely just end up in a bin.

We've had several occasions of tech being left in the seat pocket and even in countries like India its always found its way to the airports lost property and never been an issue to collect it (other than the pain to get back to the airport).
The only question is going to be if it was identified as lost property and not rubbish by the cleaning crew... a relatively new iPad or iPhone is fairly obvious to them but a notepad may be mistake for a discarded rather than forgotten item but fingers crossed for you.0 -
I suspect an A4 notebook will simply have been binned along with magazines and newspapers left in the seat pocket. 'Tech' is a different matter as it would be assumed that hadn't been left behind intentionally. I hope to be proved wrong.
