Gas Fireplace Resistant Paint? (Cracks forming in wall paint - Due to Fireplace heat)

We have a gas fireplace downstairs.

in the bedroom upstairs, the bedroom wall in line with the fireplace gets hot when  the fireplace is stiched on

that is the wall the Chimney is on.

We have painted this wall with normal Satin shine paint, colour = timeless

now as he fireplace has been on, heat has got on that upstairs wall and has caused a crack in the paint.
(which is the exact spot on the wall, that the wall is hot from the heat)

Have heard there is fireproof heat resistant paint, which we can do a 'new' coat on top of this, (for the entire wall).

We do not want to leave the fireplace on, and just use it as a showpiece.

We were unaware about this, that the fireplace heat would crack the paint, otherwise would have used this special paint.

This fireplace resistant paint, does it come in a variety of colours?

or is it more a smaller choice of colours?

Is it quite expensive compared to normal paint?

And where is the best place to get it?

We need colour Timeless.

Can somebody please find us a source of Timeless paint, in heat resistant paint please, and let us know where to get it  from.

This is hard to believe. How hot was the wall?
I think it's the wall  or the plaster that cracked and tore the paint.

How hot is this wall getting ??

I have a multifuel stove in the lounge, and the chimney breast in the room above gets up to around 25°C. In another room, a gas fired Baxi back boiler, and the wall above has no noticeable increase in temperature. If your wall is getting hot due to the flue, then I'd suggest getting a Gas Safe engineer in to have a look at the fire.

This is strange. I have ordinary emulsion painted on the alcove behind my wood burner and around 15mm from it. It's been there since 2016 , the fire is used every day for 5 months of the year and the paint's not cracked. It's discoloured a little, but it's had quite an extreme test.
What is the substrate? Mine's a galvanised metal box and the wall behind, one brick away, gets so warm we don't need a radiator in that room. No cracking on the plaster there either.

If the plaster is blown around the breast then the expansion and contraction is going to be greater and the plaster/paint will crack.  We had this in the bedroom above our wood burner.

That said, as others have pointed out, the wall should not be hot, just warm at best.
