Just that really,
Do I wait for the payment from the insurance company before I send the letter to the DVLA to transfer owndership to the insurance company and tell them it's written off?
The insurance company have written off the van and have the full log book so I need to write a letter.

Thanks.

You probably need to process this as a sale / transfer to trade.  The insurer will then process the scrap declaration if indeed that is what happens

The insurer will deal with the DVLA for you.

You shouldn't need to do anything if the insurer has the V5C document, they will deal with the process on your behalf.

I would just check with them first of all that they will be dealing with any DVLA and scrappage elements.

Thanks for the replies. The insurance company sent a letter saying we need to contact the dvla but they have the log book. I can’t get through to them to ask they never answer the phone.
On DVLA site it says write a letter if the insurance company have the log book which is fine I just don’t know whether to wait until the money has arrived before I send it
