    *sidles in*

Good morning everyone! Long time no "see"
I hope everyone is well and coping xx

I haven't been on for moons due to lots of things - we've had a big family crisis (my dad has been diagnosed with prostate cancer but it has paralysed him from the waist down :worried:) but I think my real excuse is that I haven't really been focussed on money saving - I just can't seem to keep a lid on it since the pandemic. That's going to have to change with the p**pshow that is going to be the cost of living for the near (long term??) future.

So I'm going to refocus on keeping those purse strings nice and tightly shut.
    Today's things:
:star: Gym session (making sure I use them as I pay for 3 per week) - done
    :star: B/L/D from stores - all eaten/cooked
:star: Nip to the allotment later - free entertainment and quality time with OH
:star: Get a lift home from work with colleague - saves OH an hour's round trip and petrol
:star: Charge phone and drill in work (need to use the drill in work!) - done
:star: Heating most certainly off as it's boiling here - done
:star: Sort a meal plan for the next couple of weeks - prioritise food that we already have in the house
:star: Read the mse email as I haven't bothered in a long long time - done
:star: Washing on the line so dehumidifier just set to "air purifier" - done
:star: OH doing a couple of private music lessons - gives him spends money!
    :star: Reconcile budget sheet

    Spends today:
:star: Cake Thursday at work... my turn to buy. In future I will be more organised and I will bake something - not my turn after all! Purse strings snapped shut.

    Love you all lots

    • Make lunch to take to work
    • Drive on eco mode

    • Park for free at netball
That's everything I can think of for now. I hope you all have a good day!

  • Morning folks

I was a bit stressed out yesterday and forgot to post. Lots done though, gym; shopping; some meal prep for OH while I'm away; sewing up the blanket squares; then had my neighbours round for tea. It wasn't an NSD as I spent money on food and petrol, but apart from a £3.50 bottle of non-alcoholic wine, all non-essential spends were not to be seen.

Bit tired this morning as I kicked them out at about quarter to 12, then promptly woke up at 6.30 - I am pathologically incapable of sleeping in, no matter how late I get to bed! OH is on a stag do this weekend so I'm on my own so I have a bit of peace!

    Today's list:
    :star: B/L/D from stores
:star: Make simnel-ish cake (bit late I know) using past bbe date Christmas Cake kit randomly presented to me by my sister in law.
:star: Make egg and bacon "muffins" to use up surplus of eggs
:star: Bake some cookies for OH while oven on
:star: Plant grape hyacinth bulbs rescued from pots at work when I repotted the shrubs
:star: Nip up to the allotment to water seeds/seedlings and check on he tadpoles' progress
    :star: More blanket sewing
    :star: NSD

    Un-MSE things
:naughty: oven will be on for a long time d/t simnel cake
:naughty: three washes to do. Mitigated by washing at 30 deg and reducing spin as it's a good drying day

    Have a good one all
