Just checking my eBay and noticed I am being charged 35p insertion fees? I thought the listing is free for private seller. It’s my first time selling again after a few months. I have listed only one item. Pl how do I contact eBay? Thanks

Most but not all private sellers get free listings, you can lose the free ones though if your account falls below standard - so although it seems unlikely as you haven't been selling for a while - just give your dashboard a quick look. Also double check that you are eligible for free listings.

If all of that is fine then make sure you have listed an eligible item, there are some exclusions around length of listing, extras such as adding a BIN option or a reserve to an auction (although they aren't usually 35P. Try listing another item as before you list it will show you the fee to be charged and will also show you what that charge is for which will help narrow down why you have been charged.

Then if everything looks fine and your listing is eligible, go through the help pages, use contact us and keep trying different options until you get a phone number.

EDIT: just had a quick look and the only 35p that isn't a standard listing charge is for adding a 2nd category- so have you used more than one category?

Do you have to pay insertion fees if the items are not sold and the auction is for 3 days only.

Insertion fees and FVFs are entirely different, so if you paid insertion fees they are not returned if item hasn’t sold. Also , check that 3 day listings are included in the free category, there used to be restrictions on auction length.

Listing fees have always been chargeable whether or not item sells.

Thanks have contacted eBay and ended the listing. I was charged because the listing was for 3 days. I have now been refunded.
