Applying for Probate - informing the other executor/s in writing

I have started a probate application for my Mother as I am an executor in her will, together with my Brother and Dad.
We decided I would take care of the estate so they won't apply but will be "power reserved".
The online application on GOV.UK says I must inform the other executor/s in writing that I am applying for probate.
Is there a standard/specific way I do this, or any guidance, or letter template available?

I just agreed it verbally/in writing (by WhatsApp/email) with my brother who lives 7,000 miles away. AIUI he would be informed by HMCTS that I had applied ... I provided all of his details, but don't believe they DID check with him. It wouldn't have been a problem if they HAD.#2 Saving for Christmas 2024 - £1 a day challenge. £325 of £3661

Myself and my sister were executors of my late Mum's will .Earlier this year I applied for probate,my sister was unable to help as she has several medical issues holding her back, and does not have the internet. She and I are close and I certainly didn't need to do a formal letter to her stating what I was doing.
She was never sent any documents asking for proof that she had been notified by me,and probate was granted fairly quickly. So it's up to you really.1 -
Actually, it's not "up to you", as froglet has stated.
The instructions are on the probate application, & IF checked with further action taken by probate office or more likely NOT, the instructions to write to executors choosing power reserved is clear.
My letter to my 2 co-executors (my brothers) was simple, options dicussed, power reserved agreed, our mum's details etc, p00sticks link will take you to a more detailed draft of what someone else wrote.
It does all seem, & was in my case, pretty superfluous, but I preferred to just do as instructed than have some unexpected backlash in a random checking exercise!Seen it all, done it all, can't remember most of it.1
