Best get that in writing, no doubt that will slip too. Ask them if the guarantee June delivery?0

Maybe the 2023 was always a mistake?StuartMc said:Update: Volvo have said I cannot have the £2,000 deposit back. Magically, just as I requested it, the factory had allocated a build week and it will be ready June 2022, instead of July 2023!
I have since put down another deposit on a used car, given the undue delay with the first. The manager of the salesman I spoke with told me that I never had a right to the money back and the first salesman was wrong.
Are you now stuck with buying the used car as well?0 -
I am. I have now, in full plonker mode, effectively bought two cars.I’ve been on the phone to my home insurance, which includes legal cover. They were helpful and agreeing in principle to my claim under Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. I’ve now got to send everything to the legal people to review.
Lesson so far: don’t believe anything unless it’s written down.0 -
They won’t and every single contract signed on order of a car states that they take no responsibility for delays in fulfilment.Flight3287462 said:Best get that in writing, no doubt that will slip too. Ask them if the guarantee June delivery?0 -
It also states: ‘in the event the manufacturer is unable to accept the order for the goods then the seller may by notice in writing To the purchaser cancel the contract. Upon such cancellation any deposit paid by the purchaser shall be returned and the seller shall be under no further liability to the purchaser.’
Which is exactly what the dealer told me. Only when I go to cancel, has the order magically been accepted.0
