We just bought our house and found the inside of the wardrobe is bare MDF. We like it to be nice and smooth ....
What are our option?

Do you mean they are rough or just unfinished? You could Zinsser BIN them and then paint them with a colour of your choice but being MDF they should be smooth already.1

Paint them?
Pop down to your local diy shop, grab yourself some MDF primer, your top coat of choice and some mini foam rollers.

And a central support for that bottom shelf :-)3

Sticky back plastic? No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?1

Replace the shelf with a Conti board. B&Q will cut it to the size you need. And yes, add some support in the middle.0

You could burn them and replace them with something good? Alternatively just paint.
Also listen to the advice Bendy_House gave. Unless you plan to use that shelf to hold your scarf collection it won’t cope with the weight and will buckle in the middle. Holding weight like that really isn’t MDFs strong point.
Personally if I was building a shelf like that, especially for a double wardrobe and I wanted it unsupported I’d go with 18mm ply and bead the exposed edge in some way. It’s more work though.1
