What does this Capacitor identification mean on a circuit diagram?

    Hmmm. Done some searching and it seems that there's an inner lens too, which is virtually impossible to get at without damaging the laser pickup head assembly. So I'll ignore that for now.

    Good decision. Laser heads on recorders/players are very easy to damage or alter their alignment!

    For info ... the µF electrolytic capacitor is typically used to provide DC voltage stabilisation, so will usually be used in rectification circuits where AC mains is converted to DC for use by the device electronics. It helps to smooth out the AC component that tries to be superimposed on the DC voltage.

    The nF capacitors will be used for noise filtering and/or signal processing circuits.
