Agree with Emmy Lou. Treated wood will last a long long time, especially when vertical, elevated and not in contact with the ground.
Once it is stained, painted or whatever, you’ll have to do it again every year.

The fence is inside my land, yes, with a couple of inches before the boundary line.
I quite like fence painting, I find it quite therapeutic. Plus my plants look better next to a dark background. I'll have a look at a spray
No, they haven't painted their side of the fence. They were caught just before they started to paint it a horrible brown colour! I told them they couldn't paint it and they've never forgiven me.0 -

No, they haven't painted their side of the fence. They were caught just before they started to paint it a horrible brown colour! I told them they couldn't paint it and they've never forgiven me.Why would the colour on their side matter to you? And what colour would you paint the side facing them should you manage to?This is sounding a bit weird. Unless there's a good reason why you don't want them painting their side - which would do some protecting of the timber, surely? - why don't you let them get on with it? Happy neighbour and happy fence?
