They are in favour of solar panels but not not if they can see them and complaining that the power will go into the grid and not to their homes?, Its only a dozen people so unlikely to stop the project.0

It's Just that i am contemplating an installation, but even the advertised savings seem to be miserly, and then i see very few installations, even though i pass through populated areas. I Wonder if i would be better off putting my money elsewhere.0

The savings are greater if you change how and when you use the generated energy.
You can divert excess to hot water and do energy intensive stuff when the panels are generating significant power.

Given the situation with Ukraine/Russia and the impact that will have on food supplies (particularly seed oils) the subject of conversion of 280 acres of good farmland into a solar farm should engage a much wider thought process, well beyond any alleged NIMBYism. (along with all the other farmland being lost nationally to energy production and housing)Spies said:
