British Gas billing

Not happy that despite regular submission of meter readings, British Gas regularly cancel and re-issue my energy statement. (I do have copies of each).
We submit meter readings every month, and certainly did on March 31st, but they have now issued yet another statement, full of “estimated readings”, plus they suggest that I provided readings on 14th April (no I didn’t).

What is worse, is their “estimate” for April 1st electric  is 800kwh lower than the reading I did provide,
That’s 800kwh that British Gas will try to bill me at the increased rates.

I’ll be studying the statements and meter readings, and follow up with a formal complaint.

Get a smart meter fitted if you can to make things easier for the future. You'll never have an estimated reading again.

Hopefully you have a photo for 31st March or near that date as well as that would be the easiest option.

    Even so

As long as you have picture evidence as of today you can put forward a case for the energy used and estimate it back to 31st March.

Wow, I'm impressed - have some folk managed to get an account set up with BG and then actually get to sign in? I still cannot get either to work. All I get is an error message.
In desperation I went to Bristol Energy's website (my previous supplier) and was able to log in, leave my meter readings and still see usage figures.
Not sure why a company that did everything I needed (Bristol energy) has gone out of business to be replaced by one that seems to do most things very badly?
As to trying to speak to BG? I've given up!
Anyone know if there is a trick to getting BG to actually speak, person to person, with a customer.?
