On the DD front it's not especially 'too late' since presumably most people will have only paid at most one payment for a possibly increased amount? Time will tell whether it's 'too little' though.
Personally I'm far more concerned about people ending up on fixed tariffs because suppliers didn't make the standard variable rate option clear.

Ofgem really need to give a bit more thought to their approach.They are concerned about falling customer service standards, right after they have dumped hundreds of thousands of unplanned customers onto the surviving suppliers...... and they worry about customers being shown tariffs that may not be in the customers best interests, when their own rules require a supplier to offer a customer currently on a fixed tariff the cheapest available fixed tariff, when right now that is not going to be the cheapest tariff...1

I'm amazed that people like Martin Lewis has been trying to drum into peoples heads that there was a massive rise in price coming and what the best options were and people still didn't know.
