business questions

Hi all, I am wanting to start a small gardening business, it is still in the planning stage and i have some obstacles to overcome before i take to leap (i.e passing my driving test). I have got a few questions to ask so sorry in advance. Firstly i am wanting to know if they would be any grants out there to get me started off, seen as the ones i have seen recently require you to already be trading for the last 12 month. Secondly i am wondering the new starters that have set something up similar or the gardeners who have been doing it longer then i have been alive if writing out a business plan really helped to start them off on there right plan. And thirdly i have booked a few practical courses to help me once i am in the industry but are there any training/courses people would recommend i take before taking the jump.

Just wondering if you could speed things up by using a bike and trailer? Our gardener doesn't have a lawnmower, she uses ours (and other customers')

If not, bear in mind that car insurance for a new driver including business and shifting tools around won't be cheap.
