British Gas
Hello all just wondering if any one is having the same experience. Got moved to British gas (not by choice) nothing but problems. Had to complain 4 times now and no info being sent on the website acct or app. (well there is but limited).really angry as they close down my complaint all the time. since moving to them and according to them i have used nearly £1000 pounds of JUST electricity in 5 months. this is on a same tariff that i had before moved . In the 7 years i lived in my property i have paid just over £1000 in in one whole year as we are cautious. anyone else have experience of this. Ive now gone to the Of gem with evidence. tired of there lying all the time and doing what they want at my detriment. the app issue still not dealt with, no idea how much energy ive used since feb. the list goes on.

How do you know ? Is this figure based on your own meter readings or estimated by BG?rusgormck said:........... since moving to them and according to them i have used nearly £1000 pounds of JUST electricity in 5 months. this is on a same tariff that i had before moved . .................Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0 -
Is your meter not working or why don't you have an idea how much energy you used?
As you are complaining about the not working app I assume you have a smart meter, how much energy have you used and how does that compare to the 1000£ BG billed you. Did they send you a bill or did they just increase you debit order to 200£ per months.
Can you please give us a few more details here?0 -
If your house has working meters it is quite simple to know how much energy you have used. Read the meters today, and then subtract from today's readings the last set of readings you took, presumably about the time your supply was moved to British Gas. Some simple arithmetic using the amount consumed and the number of days along with the unit rates and the daily rates will tell you how much you owe them.Folks here can help with the arithmetic if you provide the dates and meter readings.1

I kept On at them, about he app and the data not been accurate and wanted accurate info on my account page, and then all of a sudden they calculated a random bill at the 5 month point. for just under £1000. so Unclear if this is accurate or meter reading. as it says on the app they are not getting meter readings and the last reading on the website acct was from march.Robin9 said:
