Amazon prime wardrobe won't authorise cards

I have used amazon prime wardrobe many times without issue. Recently I have had multiple cards fail the pre authorisation process meaning they will not dispatch the order. I believe this is due to recent tightening of credit card rules. I contacted amazon and they said speak to the bank. I contacted the bank and they said they could see the authorisations and they were fine. The only suggestion they had was to delete any stored cards and add them again on amazon. I said I had tried with at least 2 "new" cards they said "dunno then". At this point I am stumped and cannot see how I can use prime wardrobe. I was just curious if anyone else has experienced this issue. Thanks

I experienced a similar issue - but not quite the same. The Amazon platinum card that I've used since I got it a couple of years ago (And have gained £250 in free vouchers through its use) recently declined when I made a number of Amazon purchases - including a couple of higher value items. Amazon stated I needed to update my payment details - Newday said there wasn't an issue from their end. Updated the details as requested - payment declined again (plenty of credit limit to cover the cost). Back to Newday - 'not our problem' - back to Amazon 'not our problem' - Amazon then said they'd 'investigate' and send me an email in 24 hours. A week later I got an email saying - 'you need to contact your bank it's not our problem'.

Since then - I've placed further orders - and they've been fine. Sometimes I don't understand how it breaks - and how it fixes itself. And it seems - neither do Amazon or Newday.

If it works sometimes & not others then there will be a link error so Amazon to Newday back to Amazon is breaking down somewhere. Or taking too long. If Newday can see the transaction then it will be the link back between them & Amazon.  As to who's fault it is.... Is anyone's guess.
