Free wall insulation

I'm not sure if I've dreamt this but didn't energy companies used to offer free wall insulation, which I thought was not gov grant related? I thought they had a quota each year so at some point it started again. Does anyone know more about this?

Yes, a few years ago they were paying for wall insulation, if I remmeber correctly you did not even need to be a customer and there was no means testing.

They still do so, but only for low income group

The Energy Company Obligation scheme - This required the energy companies to assist vulnerable & low income households reduce their energy consumption. This could be through better insulation and/or more efficient gas boiler & other energy saving measures.
