Hello all, I woke up with a stinking headache so have been sitting here doing nothing for a while, but now have had to take painkillers because it's not shifting.
The builder came back yesterday and all is finished at last 👏 ( well until next time and we'll have to save up for that, it's another big job ). He's taken all his paraphernalia too so my patio windows are now clear of the sight of wheelbarrows etc..... lovely. I also had a video call from DD and family last night and they are all tanned and in summer clothes while I was under my fleece throw 🥶 Roll on our summer !!
When this headache clears ( I hope) I'm going to get out into the garden while the sun is out as I have a pile of garden rubbish to cut up and put in the bin and then I want to start sorting out the front garden where the work has been done. I hope to tear Mr Fix It away from the X box to help with the heavy stuff I need doing too.
RedRuby sorry about your DM's fall, I hope she's ok and it was just a blip. Hope you can get some help about your feet from the Dr and work too.
TA glad the op of your DF went well and I she makes a good recovery.
Orkneystar there's no place like home and your own bed is there.
Hope everyone can enjoy their Easter weekend whatever you have planned.
Take care all, hugs to anyone in need
nan xx

Good morning
Cloudy and overcast here, no sign of the promised sun🌞
I was up early, DH made me a bacon sandwich 🥓and then I have been baking as my sister and her family are visiting this afternoon🥮
I need to wash the garden furniture as if the sun does put in an appearance we can sit outside.
Easy dinner tonight as we picked up a yellow stickered Indian meal for 2 yesterday, curry, rice, naan & onion bhajis for just over £2, what's not to like😋
Have as good a day as you can🌻

Beautiful day here.
Went to a local Church for a Churches together service followed by a march into the town centre for an act of witness - SA band played and we distributed Hot Cross Buns with a serviette printed with a message.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

I've not posted over the last couple of days as, in truth, I've had nothing of interest to say (same old, same old) but I've been reading along and keeping up with everyone else's news.
I’m so sorry to hear the news about the twin, snoozer. Love to Laura & family.
I’m glad your hospital appointment went well Gers and that your hip is now pain free.
It’s good your BFF has had her op now, TA, and I’m sending best wishes wishes for a speedy recovery, hopefully at home.
It’s so worrying Ruby when elderly parents don’t want to “bother” us. I hope all goes well for your DM. I’m sad to hear you now have to wait until Tuesday for a GP consultation. And well done on coming to a decision about work - as you say, you can’t be on your feet all day when they're so painful. Your employers have a duty to help you.
Good news nanny that the builder has finished - at last!
I hope you managed to get out in the garden, the fresh air might help with your headache.Coxy - your walking trip sounds “interesting” to say the least. You made me chuckle at your description of the assault course part and the various establishments where you bedded down. An adventure you won’t forget in a hurry.
I'm hoping Nels is OK. The waiting for everything to be put in place is so frustrating and draining. It's like being in limbo.
The usual Friday for me, admin stuff and meal planning for the week ahead. I have some cooked sliced lamb in the freezer for Easter Sunday - in fact, most of next week's meals will be from the freezer. Despite having an inventory of what's in there, I'm always surprised at what I find.
It's easy to tell it's a Bank Holiday as the DIY brigade seems to be out in force. We've been hearing drilling, hammering, sawing etc for the best part of the day - and it's only Friday!
To be fair, they don't start too early and are usually finished by tea time so I can live with that. For us, it will be a quiet feet-up weekend (literally for DH as his knee is still not behaving) but I know there's an unopened box of chocolates in the sideboard for a treat on Sunday so it's not all bad.
Hugs to those who need or want one and best wishes to all for a happy & peaceful Easter. X
Be kind to others and to yourself too.11 -
Yorkslass keep posting everyone’s life is the same but it’s nice to hear from people I’m an expert at been boring I feel like I get up go to work and then to bed I have either got work clothes on or night clothes I am going to wait until I have gone completely mad and walk around in a glamorous dress and a tiara 😂11

Izzy I'd like to be a fly on your wall to watch you do the glam catwalk 💃😁
YorksLass we all have boring days when nowt is happening, it doesn't matter I like to see posts boring or not. Not me though I can always find some mundane task to chat about, whether it be the weather or our choice of tea for that day, I must drive everyone to distraction with my witterings 🤣 My headache did subside in the fresh air thank you, although it may have been helped by the strong painkillers.

While having a nice pub dinner this evening my partner suggested a no-gadget day on Easter Sunday.
Intrigued, I asked for more details.
She said no tablets, no phones (unless for emergencies) and no computers! She justified this by saying we spend far too much time looking at gadgets while not properly interacting face-to-face with people. Ironically she was saying this as I was looking at my phone
So from the hours of 9am and 9pm Sunday 17th both of us will refrain from using any of the above. And the first one who caves has to pay for the next pub dinner (as opposed to going Dutch like tonight)
An interesting challenge, but means I won't be able to post on here (unless I cheat of course and do it under the sheets or in the car or somewhere out of sight
