Morning folks.
The weather isn't very promising here, drizzly and damp, not too Easter like yet.
Last night I was really tired, a wave of fatigue seemed to blanket me so I gave into it and went to bed very early, conked out, slept through all night and now feel refreshed.
Easter is the second last 'first' of the year, not as difficult as the others, just a reminder of how poorly my DM became. I'll have a wee bunny in memory. 😀
Florence - love your minions!

Nelski - hope you've got your DM sorted and are getting help with your own struggles.
Happy Friday to all.

Morning folks and thanks GERS. It's a beautiful start here - sun, blue sky and no wind! And it's forecast to reach 19 deg. That will do nicely. DD and the girls are now away at the caravan for a week so I am hoping this weather holds for them. She sent me photos of the curtains I had made and they look really good, well worth the effort!
I feel better than I did yesterday when I felt to be going backwards with this strange cold. I was shivery most of the day and spent the afternoon under my heated throw dozing. I went to bed early and even managed to sleep right through until 6.00 am which is unusual for me. I hope I am finally on the mend!
I have the pleasure of the Friday Tidy today and hope to make an attempt to tidy the front garden a bit this afternoon, legs permitting. It's looking a total mess. I finished my last portion of soup yesterday so I now have some Lentil & Bacon on the go to cover the next few days' lunches. A large chicken breast is out defrosting waiting to be manifested into something for tea.
My BFF had her op as planned yesterday and her son told me last night she had come through the op ok and had managed a drink and slice of toast. He said she sounded very drowsy. I hope she managed a painfree night and await today's update.
Have a good day folks and Happy Easter one and all. Thinking of our poorlies, poorly loved ones and convalescing. NELS I was so sorry to hear you are having a bad time of it just now, especially when you are far from well yourself. I hope your DB is helping out. Take care one and all and be safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"17 -
Morning All
It's overcast here but quite mild, I have the windows open for some fresh air, always makes the house feel better. Washing to go on once I've had a shower, will have to decide if it can go out as we have rain forecast for later.
I have veggie soup on the go and have made some jellies, it's time to start some healthy eating!
Pleased to hear your BF is doing well TA, hope she has a quick recovery.
Big hugs Nelski.
Shopping to do this morning then I really am going to attempt to put the base of the greenhouse together although I've been saying that for over a week now!
Have a Good Friday, take care. XX15 -
Hi everyone,
Thank you for your well-wishes for Laura, she isn't too bad thankfully. She had prepared herself for the worst and of course has baby 1 to concentrate on. She told Chris and Crystal last night so I won't have to guard my tongue when I see them. I so nearly said something in conversation with them last week.
I made good progress with the house sort yesterday. Esben's bedroom is ready for his furniture and belongings to move in and Laura's is nearly there. I have two bags of reusable nappies to sanitise and pack away today and hope to have broken the back of the rest of the sorting. Steve is going to do some gardening this morning and plant the new plants we got. I have ordered some slug nematodes because we lost so many plants last year, they were chewed to ground level as soon as they sent out shoots.
Nelski, thinking of you.
Hugs to all the poorly people and their relatives.
Have a good day.15 -
Good morning, all
I woke up earlier this morning with a big smile on my face thinking that today was actually Saturday!!
But then my partner came into the bedroom with a nice cup of tea and said "It's an overcast morning. So much for Good Friday being a sunny day!" My disappointment was palpable
As a consequence I shall be WfH for a few hours, which is not a bad compromise I suppose. But I blame my brain for deluding me into thinking it was Saturday. I really must get my own back on my brain, as empty as it is.
Have been on this particular forum for almost a week now, and I have to say I'm really enjoying it. Far more friendly and helpful compared to some other social media forums I've frequented in the past.
Oops! Breakfast is ready, and I'm still cuddled up in bed with my phone. How romantic
Have a great day, folks, even if it is a Friday and not a chuffin' Saturday

Morning all,
A slowish start this morning, despite being awake since 5.30am! Finally starting to get my 'Orkney head' back after our (extended) trip south. Despite some of the downsides of living here (less choice, food and fuel costing more, delivery charges etc) my trip away really has made me feel thankful for home. Yesterday I actually went for a walk (had been too tired after all the exertion last week) and I hope to again today - weather is damp and a chance of 'precipitation' all day, but hopefully it won't be too heavy. It seems we're all having a week of mixed news, challenges, but thinks to be thankful for too - hugs to all those who would appreciate one! I wish you all a lovely Easter weekend, I WILL be indulging in some chocolate, why not, ha ha? Take care all.

Morning all, beautifully sunny, mood booster extraordinaire...I had a very long chat with my friend in Spain last night covering all sorts of subjects, we both found something the other should know about,so now I am the proud viewer of a spanish website that does homewares, wallpaper etc, and is full of things I can't afford. However, there is always a workaround, so I will have to put my creative head on. We also covered European saucepan design, physical aches and pains, childhood problems and various other nsfw topics. So I've got a lot off my chest, so has she, we're good for the weekend now. Which is going to be a whole lot of nothing as usual. For me anyway. Some gardening. Lots of eating. Izzy, you saying that yesterday, I remember one day coming home from work and getting stuck in traffic. It was summer, the windows were open and I looked down to see my belly trapped in the seatbelt like a piece of trussed up meat, so i was giving it a poke with one finger in disappointment at the size of it and I noticed a young girl in the car to the side of me staring with such a comical expression on her face. That made me laugh out loud and inspired me to diet the next day...
worked for a bit too until I got greedy again....Gers, camelot, coxy, next time, arrange a meet, it would be lovely to meet some of you irl...TA, hugsfor your friend. Zola, commiserations it's not Saturday, but nearly! nanny, hope the builder finishes soon! Rosy, hope your meal out was lovely. Nelski, hope something has been arranged, unfortunately it's Easter which means an even longer weekend for nothing to happen. Hugs. It is so tiring and frustrating. Well, I hope everyone has the best day they can and if you can't,I send hugs and sticks to use on anyone annoying...Take care...Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi15 -
Morning all
Lovely bright and sunny day here and we are due a really nice weekend weather wise which will be so nice, we are hoping to start the BBQ off this weekend
there is nothing better than sitting in the garden with a glass of wine while OH does the cooking
My dear old mum had a fall yesterday in the house, luckily my nephew was there to help her up and call the ambulance, the first thing we knew about it was when we saw 2 paramedics on her ring doorbell, cue a load of frantic phone calls between my sister dd and I, turns out mum had fallen in the bedroom but cant remember falling and told my nephew not to phone me or my sister ! as she didnt want to worry us, which is daft as we all worried as soon as we saw the doorbell !! The paramedics took her in for the night and did blood tests and a ct scan of her head, so we are just waiting for the results today and to see if she can come home, gentle words will be had about her not letting us know, especially after all the bad news we have had this last year of so, we all went into panic mode !
My feet are still so sore the Dr never called yesterday so it will have to wait for Tuesday now, I have also decided to email my direct boss and her boss and HR to tell them how much I am struggling, I need some help work wise I just cannot sustain being on my feet all day and all that walking, so I shall hand the problem over to them and see what they can do.
I woke very early this morning despite wanting a lay in
but I have promised myself a day of sloth ah la Nels on a sunday, I am going to have a quick tidy round this morning and then shower and get clean jamas on and put my feet up on the sofa and I intend to stay there ! (unless I have to pick mum up) OH said he will take the dogs out for a good long walk and I will prep the dinner so there is not much to do later.
TA I am so glad your friends op went well, hopefully she will be able to come home soon as you recover much quicker at home, please pass my best wishes onto her xxxx
Snoozer I was so sorry to hear about the twin - such sad news, lets hope the other one continues to thrive xxxx
Have good days all and take care xxx
