HSBC Advance Offer - New Customer?

Hi

does anyone know the definition of new customer exactly in the t’s and c’s of the offer? I have an HSBC mortgage but have never had a current account with them so not sure if I qualify…!

    Well, MSE article says it pretty clearly

    Who can get the bonus? You can't have had an HSBC current account, or opened one with First Direct, since January 2019.
    Hardly a surprise that Offer details that the article links to say the same

    You will not qualify for the offer if:

    you've had an HSBC current account since 1 January 2019

    Must remember to switch away my HSBC account next to reset the clock on bonus eligibility with them. There's literally no reason to hold the account any more (unless they launch that 'reward' scheme they trialled last year more widely).
