Neon Reef to British Gas

Can anyone help. Like many, I was with Neon Reef and switched to British Gas when NR went under. I have an Economy Seven meter and have always given ‘day’ and ‘night’ readings. I am now on the ‘Welcome to British Gas’ tariff but whenever I query it, the tariff seems to have only one pence per kWh rate - so no differentiation between Low/High or Night/Day. Has anyone managed to transfer to British Gas and get onto an Economy Seven tariff? Or is it inevitable that Day and Night readings are just added together at the more expensive rate? Thanks

BG do offer E7 but mainly to non-smart meter customers (crazy, I realise).

If you're sure that E7 will save you money, contact BG CS and eventually you'll foind someone who can switch you to their E7 tariff.

You can also ask to be re-billed for your past consumption at E7 rates since they should have put you on E7 when they took you on from NR.

Check you are being billed on the correct meter ref: the meter ref should tell the supplier whether it is a single or dual rate meter when they set the account up.
