New Scottish Power fixed rayers

Options
We were transferred from Avro Energy to Scottish Power , when Avro went into Liquidation. Our credit passed over to Scottish Power. They also continued with the same rate of £101.00 Direct Debit fixed rate, which ends 30th of June this year. We’ve looked at Scottish Powers new fixed rates, from July 2022 to June2023, it is £610 per month.
We cannot afford that amount of money. Where do they get these figures from ? They boast about their Green Energy from Wind Farms, so how can the adjust their prices so high on par with gas and oil.?
We realise we will have to increase our payments, monthly, but £610 per month is my complete Pension per month. Can you suggest an alternative company which would be more affordable

Get your actual annual consumption figures, forget DD amounts in £s.

Do the sums at your current rates.

Do the sums at the current Standard Variable Tariff rates, which are valid until the end of September.

Do not forget to include any credit/debit amounts on your account.

Any fix is liable to be way above the SVT and could well change before your current fix ends.

These fixed rates will likely be roughly twice the price of the Variable (Capped) rate.  Just ignore the fixes.
