I am not sure if this should be on here or on the consumer rights section so my apologies if it's the wrong section.

I am so frustrated with British Gas its untrue! On 3 consecutive occasions I have had an engineer booked to sort my home Smart meter out as its not working. I don't work from home so each time I have had to book a day's leave and on 3 consecutive occasions I have stayed home all day and they have failed to turn up. What is even more maddening is that on all 3 occasions I have phoned them on the day of the visit to check that somebody is coming and all 3 times they have said yes somebody is definitely coming this time, its booked in, only for 5pm to arrive, nobody turn up then getting a tx message around 5.30pm informing me that an engineer will not be able to attend today!

That's 3 full days paid holiday lost and irreplaceable for a ridiculous £30 compensation per missed visit and even worse the original problem is still unresolved with zero confidence they will actually turn up when I get another appointment... and I have only received one £30 compensation so far as well.

Ps. This is after contacting British Gas twice to complain after each missed visit, opening up and proceeding with an official complaint and speaking to a specialist dealing with the complaint because the official complaint was activated.

Shameful treatment from British Gas, no end in sight and no confidence anybody will turn up next time (this has been ongoing for 5 months now) and still unable to check my bills properly until the smart meter is working properly so cannot gauge my new daily energy costs.

You should get £30 for each one missed as you seem to be aware and if they don't pay the £30's within 10 days (not sure if thats working days or calendar) then you should get another £30 for each one not paid in time.  Sounds like they owe you at least £120 from what you said .

If you have already filed a formal complaint (which you indicate you have) and they haven't actioned the payments or the resolution is not what you are happy with then request a deadlock letter (or if 8 weeks have elapsed then you can proceed anyway) and take it to the Ombudsman.  Not ideal but seems to be your only recourse as things stand.
