I'm not really sure how useful this is to anyone, but I'm paying 38 p per kWh of electricity with a 27 p standing charge. On my low usage this work out slightly above the cap right now but it's a fix that I took a punt on being cheaper come next winter. Time will tell...

Or you heat up water using electricity, which can consume a lot of power and is typically done during the nights/off peak time...

I live in a flat too.

    Paying EDF:
    • 41.75p per day, standing charge
    • 37.2p per kWh, peak time
    • 14.14p per kWh, off peak time
About 65% of my electricity consumption is done during off peak hours, mainly for hot water, so my average rate is probably 21.5p per kWh.

I am supposed to be on Economy 7, so 7 hours of off peak electricity per night, but I have been getting 9 hours per night since I have had a smart meter installed (from 23:30 to 08:35 currently, without a gap)...

It's completely unknown what will happen in October so I am staying on the standard variable, I'd also suggest that the OP changes from their fix straight away.
  • I'm with e-on next I'm paying 28.02p/kwh and 42.24p standing charge. My direct debit has gone up from £59.00 to £159!!!
