Vodafone - Interest Rates based off discounted package and not monthly fee...

Hello,
So I saw an advert in early january for vodafone broadband at £19 a month. Which is great.. I used affiliate link and signed up, paying £19 a month.
When I came to look at my monthly increases after April, I noticed it went up to £21.23 based of their 9.3% interest increase.. which isnt correct if its based of £19 a month, i was expecting £20.77 so £1.77 increase..
So after some digging i released that the £19 a month deal i signed up too.. isnt actually £19 a month.. its £24 a month with a £5 discount and this is what their interest rates are based off.. even though i will never pay £24 a month throughout the 24 month contract and none of this is explained in the advertising i find it extremely misleading.
My issue here is.. shouldnt they have to advertise the deal as £24 a month with £5 discount? as non of this is mentioned and when i checked out i didnt even notice if im being honest, all i cared about was it said i would pay £19 a month.
After contacting them all they've done is stood by their t&c's small print. Im happy to pay the interest but only off the monthly £19 charge .. not some made up price plan with a discount.. whats stopping them saying our price plan is £1000 a month with £981 discount? but you pay £19 a month..
I had the same issue with EE and after contacting them they actually adjusted the fees whereas Vodafone have not.
Would this be covered by misleading sales act?
I recieved an email notifcation about the monthly charge changing in april, and it has no mention of a 'price plan' its all worded around what i pay a month and this is their example in the email : For example, if you were paying £20 a month, your monthly cost would increase by £1.86
Shouldnt it actually say: For example, if you were paying £19 a month, but your price plan is £24 a month with a £5 discount, your monthly cost would increase by £2.23
Thanks in advance!
The outcome may well be 'you didnt read the t&c's so F you its your fault' which i will just accept and put down to a lesson learned for the next contract i enter in, but this feels so misleading its the principle that really annoys me!

Many do the same. A few years ago MrsM had an EE contract at £5 which was £15 discounted by £10 and she had the same, increase based on the £15 but still only £10 discount. My Plusnet BB service though has had the increase applied to the discounted price. I am afraid it is a case of read the T&Cs.

Thanks for the response molerat,Its so misleading... its crazy how they get away with this tactic..Fair enough though, they can hide behind the T&C's.. but will keep this in mind for any future contracts that are based off a 'discounted plan' and not actual price.Cheers!0
