Why is British Gas increasing DD payments on fixed tariffs?
Options
I'm on a March24 fixed energy tarrif and in the last few months they've increased the payments so they're now £225 in credit and usage is about to plummet. They claim to be building credit against next winter, but the original payment already took account of this, surely and they've repeatedly assured me that the tariff is fixed. I can't reduce payments, just increase them.

Probably to build cashflow.0

Why not switch to monthly whole amount DD and pay for what you use and then build up your own winter credit nest-egg in a savings account rather than in BG's pockets?
