Should I ask for refund
Hi all we bought a secondhand bmw series 1, 2 weeks ago, seemed good, low mileage some service history, runs well etc. However the engine management light has come in and my
basic diagnostic reader says p1061 which it appears may be a valvetronic problem or fuel issue can’t find definitive answer. It only happened after we put fuel in. Looking back over the invoices I received with the car the valvetronic had been an issue many times since new.

Two questions really
Should I take it to the garage and throw
good money after bad
or
should I attempt getting a refund first as within 30 days of sale (from dealer) but I know this can be a challenge.

Well if you want to reject it then you're still going to have to diagnose exactly what the fault is and whether it was likely present when you purchased the car. How old is the car, how many miles has it done?0

Don't stress but easier said than done. You are doing the right thing a trip to the garage. Be nice and polite and see how they react verbally and if their words are fulfilled.
For some reason, many cars with 10/20/30/50k on the clock may have ran perfectly for the previous people but as soon as it changes hands a minor fault or two.
One of the reasons I've bought my cars from the main dealer that their after-sales is almost always great. Smaller dealers, and I'm referring to those with one outlet etc, often a one-man band employing loyal frontline people will try to avoid you once slaes are made but as you know, not always but more of a chance than a main dealer.0 -
Did you not review the available service history and paperwork/invoices before agreeing the purchase?
