Morning all, just waiting for my sm delivery, might have to dash offGers hope the appts go well.TA, just thought DH will need some sun specs when we go to the wedding in Greece, he has varifocals and says his old ones def aren't right nowI've put my freezer book on the worktop to add any new items! The coq au vin was tasty last night but DS saw a bit of freezer burn when it came out of the freezer and decided he'd have a mini pizza and chipsI've been reading a few of the new threads that are popping up with the costs of living rising, makes you realise how nice this one isJust watching a wood pigeon balanced on DDogs outdoor water bowl. I know there's not a lot in as she had a big drink when we came in from our walk, and yes ,its tipped up.Ooh they're here have a good day all xx

Hello all, not having a very good day so far, nothing of much consequence in the great scheme of things but very irritating to me, think I'd better start today all over 😟
We went to C*rry's to look at the cookers and a microwave as I like to see the items first and there was only one of each suitable size wise, Mr Fix It didn't like the cooker and I wasn't fussed about the microwave, so I'm now back on the hunt. Sadly there aren't many shops that actually have the items on show, seems they are all on line. Then we rang the garage about the car and it's now waiting for another company to give the go ahead to start the repairs. Looks like it could be another 2 weeks till we get it back. Talk about jumping through hoops !
This afternoon I need to sort out the big freezer again as I'm sure I bought a fruit loaf on Monday but I can't find it anywhere and that's the only place left to look, if it's not there I must be losing my mind because I remember picking one up and so does Mr Fix It 😵 I can't even find my receipt 😱 What's wrong with me ? I can't even remember what month it is, let alone the day. Tea tonight will be lo cottage pie and veg for me and himself will have something with oven chips.
Poppy stay with us, we don't judge and everyone has their own opinion with no questions asked. x
Gers well done for jumping in and helping Poppy on the other thread, that poster was out of line. Hope the appointments go well.
TA good luck to your friend for her op.
Camelot hope your thumb is ok today, oh and the car.
ZolaBuddy welcome. Stick with us we're very friendly.
Hugs to all especially those struggling with illness, difficult times or the current situation. Good luck to those going away, hope you have a lovely time.
Take care all
nan xx

Thanks for the warm welcome, folks, I am already becoming addicted.
Oh, and as for my handle here ("Zolabuddy"). Well my name is Zola, but there was an athlete called Zola Budd, who is South African but competed for Britain back in the early 80s. I am also South African, and always admired her, as did my parents and hence my name.
But back to more mundane things - the garden refuse recycling truck came by, emptied my wheelie bin but left if about 70 meters down the road.
First world problems I guess, lol

Thanks Nanny window. I think I have learnt to just stay with this thread. I don’t understand the point of some threads if you are not allowed an opinion but I am not up for a fight. I have received nothing but kindness on this thread.11

Poppy and Izzy, sorry to read that you've both been subjected to nastiness on other threads. There's no need for it, I wonder if people are like that because they are anonymous, and they can get away with it.Stay on here, everybody is lovely and caring.10

Hello again folks, a bit late to the party today, we were off island last week for the first time in two years - it was fab, but also overwhelming too. I'm now catching up on rest/sleep (we walked LOADS, one day we did 16 miles), and household type chores, as well as thinking what we need to re-stock the freezer with next time I get to the butchers! I am feeling quite positive, if tired, and glad DS managed to get some more clothes (needed as he's grown) and art supplies (he's doing Art Nat 5 next year and is quite talented). We also got some other random stuff (bathroom light shade/matts/towels, underwear for me, some treat foods, jumper for DH.....). I'm going to read through all your posts now, but in the meantime hugs to those who need them.
@Gers I have just read your post, so hoping that all goes well for you.
