I recently upgraded from Android 11 (never had any similar issue) to Android 12. On four separate occasions in the last week my mobile has put me in touch with the emergency services, which made me feel terrible about wasting their time. I can't work out how to stop stop this happening, or indeed why it's happening. The screen has been unlocked at the time so I'm definitely not hitting the emergency button when entering the screen unlocking code. I don't think I've been pressing any particular part of the screen and/or buttons on the side, so I'm baffled.
I'd be really grateful if anyone could help, please. I've tried googling but didn't land anywhere helpful - so a link and/or idiot's guide would be much appreciated.

Googling on your question might have been both quicker and easier, if you're only after simple facts rather than opinions!

You've possibly got the emergency calls set and either assigned to the lock screen or side buttons. You'll need to go into the settings, I'm not sure where exactly, and disable it.3

Hello, I have had exactly the same issue since the upgrade. It happens when the power button is pressed multiple time, my pocket also set this off. You can turn this feature off.
Go to Settings > Safety & emergency > Emergency SOS and turn off the "Use Emergency SOS" option.

Is that the default setting in Android 12? If so, the emergency services are going to be deluged as 12 rolls out!No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0
