Moving supplier

Hi

I'm with EDF (having been moved due to Utility Point's demise).  I've been put on the Welcome Variable tariff and paying £270 per month (up from £180).

Electricity unit rate: 28.02p per kWh
Daily standing charge: 42.25p per day

Gas unit rate: 7.343p per kWh
Daily standing charge: 27.22p per day

I want to move the supplier, but I don't want to fix.  My reason for moving is twofold.  Firstly EDF only sends me a bill every 6 months (it may be 12).  I hate this as I like to keep track and I do not want any surprises.  I send them a meter reading each month and expect an update.

Secondly kinda just personal - EDF is a French-owned company and I feel bitter that the French Government (probably due to the election) stepped in to ensure energy prices only went up by some 5% and I don't want to be subsidising the French (or anyone - nothing against the French per se) - geddit

Struggling to find how to do this???  Any help is appreciated!!!

Octopus may take you on their variable tariff if you call them.

Same rates but better billing and monitoring of usage.
