I’m interested to know what folk pay for a touring caravan season grass pitch and how the electricity is calculated?

It all depends on location really.

Electric is usually charged on actual usage.

Not been in a touring van for 8 years we used to use my parents van, but it is no longer. We were always charged a flat fee per day. Things may have changed now, we only needed it for lights, TV , phone charger and water pump, our eletritric usage was minimal as we were out most of the day, the cooker and fridge was gas and we had a stove top kettle rather than electric. We  used the shower block and washing up facilites. So our only use was TV for the news in the morning and lights in the evening and the water pump to fill the kettle or cooking pot for boiling food and occasional phone charging. Other people seem to bring more electrical goods than I have at home!! And use them all day! It did seem as we were subsidising other people's many kitchen appliances, entertainment devices, pumps for inflatables, power tools, disco lights & DJ set ups, small chest freezers, heated drying racks rechargable sit in kids cars, electric guitars, amps etc.

I never came across a site that had metered electric hook up, but maybe things have changed or are changing with the electricity price rises its only fair that those with high usage pay more than those who just use the basics.

I've just looked at one location, so not an in-depth survey, and they seem to have simple cost per night for pitch with electricity and a higher charge for one with additional water and waste hook up.  Prices shown are from £20 and £22.50 respectively per night.
