How To Complain ABOUT the Legal Ombudsman?

I started the process of making a complaint to the Legal Ombudsman in 2017. I started the process and through no fault of my own was left waiting for them to give their decision. When in 2018 I realised I had been forgotten I reminded them I was waiting for the matter to be concluded and they confirmed this would be done. In July 2020 I had heard nothing and I contacted them again. In October 2020 I found out that once again my complaint had not been dealt with and requested it to be completed. In 2021 a great deal of time was wasted with the Service complaints team deciding on what were the elements of my complaint and telling me I now could not pursue the original complaint of 2017 because the Ombudsman had left the service. In December of 2021 the Senior Ombudsman wrote that she would provide me with her findings in February 2022. This date has passed and nobody contacted me.
I have told the Organisation that I am severely disabled both physically and mentally by an illness and require people to write on my behalf. I genuinely believe that they are hoping that I will die so that they do not have to admit to their catalogue of errors. Can anyone shed any light on whom I am meant to contact when the Legal Ombudsman does not do their job as clearly complaining about them to themselves results in the run around.
TIA.

I had dealings with them a few years back and imho they are just apologists for solicitors. They are funded by solicitors so they are not going to bite the hand that feeds them very hard if at all. In my case they believed the solicitor who said he hadn't received my emails even though I provided copies to the Ombudsman that were correctly addressed and their investigator once said to me 'solicitors are very busy people you know, you can't expect them to.....etc. Don't waste time and emotional energy on them, just give it up as a bad job is my advice
    • A public enquiry needs to be implemented.  You could start by writing to your MP to ask for the parliamentary ombudsman to re-evaluate the situation.  Under disability law you should be entitled to have the matter looked into even if late going in if disability slowed you doing so. Also as you said it's the legal ombudsman' fault.  I know of others who feel badly let down by the legal ombudsman and it could be very useful to pursue a full public enquiry to root out any corruption and laziness on the part of solicitors and their ombudsman.  If people can coordinate it would be useful. If everyone with issues re the ombudsman write to the parliamentary ombudsman via their MP it would be helpful. Please keep us posted
