Can an IVA stop me from getting a job in a bank?
I have opened an IVA after being really hit by COVID and have struggled to get good, well paid employment since. I finally have got a job offer from Barclays who I am really excited to work for but would my IVA stop me from getting the job? Would be really heartbroken if this is the case. Thank you

It might, depends on the job role, did they ask about insolvency on the application form? Will they do credit checks?"You've been reading SOS when it's just your clock reading 5:05 "0

IVAs tend not to be judged as negatively as bankruptcy. Why this is, I don't know. Both are a declaration of insolvency.
In most jobs this has no effect - insolvency is a fact of life. However, banking is an industry that can be sensitive to any form of indebtedness so, as above, it could be, depending on the bank and the actual role.
All you can do is answer any questions honestly and see what happens0 -

IVA`s can take months to organise/set up/have creditors meeting etc etc yet 4 days before this post you were worried that a £400 debt to BT would result in debt collectors and bailiffs knocking on your door, now you say you have "opened an IVA".

There is no possibility of getting a job in a bank’s fraud team with an insolvency in your name.
