Vinted

Sold boots on Vinted Second Hand App
Buyer received them and paid I now have the money 25 pounds in my Wallet
It instructs now to get the money put in to the  Bank Account that I have to put in my Bank details

I have put in my correct details and the app keeps saying We couldn't authorise your Bank Account Please check that all the info is correct

I don't know what to do

There is No Help line No Telephone number No Customer Service
I have asked for help on line with no response

Apparently looking at Trust Pilot there are many many issues and terrible reviews and other customers experiencing the same issue as me  concerning this company based in Lithuania

They advertise I believe on ITV

Is there anywhere I can report them to OfCom perhaps or Watch Dog Trading Standards  on line fraud  groups ?

Report them for fraud because your bank details did not get accepted?

They have an online help centre and have their contact details on the website with a contact form or
you can write to them if you prefer.

Not a registered user so I cannot check how good/bad that is.  When they started advertising I read their terms
and conditions and thought no thank you.

Don't use the app to insert your bank details use a browser to login instead.

Vinted are not a scam or fraudsters, we sellers are just used to ebay and for its faults we can get things resolved there. Vinted is cheap for a reason, for most sellers it works fine, but for a minority when it goes wrong you suddenly find it hatd to get to speak to someone to help you out.

The bank issue may be as simple as your name not exactly matching the bank. With security now they need it exact, some of my facebook buyers send me bank transfers and I have to be careful how I give my details, I used to just give them the bank sort code and account number- now I have to give them the exact same name and exactly as shown on my bank otherwise it tells them it isn't a match. So for instance if I use the name Soo Smith, I have to give them my real name Soolin S Smith to enable them to pay.

2 of my DIL buy from Vinted and love it and suggested I sell on there, but like forgetmyname I didn't like their terms and conditions and decided to stick with the sites I already use.

I am with HSBC and they allow close but not exact name matches.

If I want to make a payment to a new payee I input sort code, account number and account name. Usually it comes back as 'Name Matched' but occasionally it has come back with 'Close Match do you want to proceed?' presumably because I have input for example 'Soo Smith' but the account is in the name of 'Soolin Smith'.
A man walked into a car showroom.
He said to the salesman, “My wife would like to talk to you about the Volkswagen Golf in the showroom window.”
Salesman said, “We haven't got a Volkswagen Golf in the showroom window.”
The man replied, “You have now mate".

My HSBC is a little more forgiving (apart from one organisation that I use regularly that is a nightmare as HSBC keep flagging it as a problem!). My Smile bank though requires it to be near perfect, even missing my middle initial stops the person from transferring, I have a cut and paste now that I use for buyers that opt for BT, which is exactly the name that Smile will let through.

Starting to cause issues in a lot of places.  Some of my accounts I have Peter and some have just Pete. Some have my middle
name also but that is rarely used outside banking and government documents.

No human to view it and say they use a shortened name on their shopping site login but everything else is good, may only
take one small discrepancy to reject it.  Maybe overkill but when asked for the exact name on my card I even use CAPS
if that is how the name is printed on the card.

I remember a nice call to a bank at 2am reporting a fake phishing site, we had a really good chat on how I found all the alternate
websites the scammers had prepared when that one got taken down.

I have 6 payments pending since May 4th. When I contact vinted they just reply with delaying tactics or unhelpful stand replies. They were recently fined by the Polish government and I wonder if they are trying to claw some of the money back by ripping of sellers. This company was shady at best, now I am worried I won't get my money, and they still have a full advertising campaign!
I am not selling anything else on there and if I get my money  I would rather leave than trust them again.

"Poland’s consumer authority has imposed a 5.3 million zloty (€1.14 million) fine on Vinted, a popular online marketplace for trading second-hand items."
