Second hand car warranty from third parties

Several points that may help everyone:
Cars 6 years and older, a lot may not be covered even under a top flight warranty as 'wear/tear' comes to mind.
Always take a policy that has the terms will cover 'consequential damage"
Read more carefully the wording in "what is not covered." to get a better picture and don't take the reps word for it.
Watch out for auto-renewal
Watch out for the cover you take out on for example a car 5 years old as in the 6th year it reduces a lot unless you have agreements in place beforehand.
Is it worth it? For a piece of mind it is but as long as you are aware of what is not covered
BEWARE, they won't verbally declare this is not asked and often tucked away in the print. If you have a fault that no one is sure what it is and no fault is located, you pay for the diagnosis and that could be a lot of money for a BMW/Mercedes etc.
Warning, even if they find the fault it may not be covered.
Conclusion: By the best warranty you can and be aware of what is covered and what is not and the process of claim, etc. If you have a top end car and are worried it may be worth it.
We always cover our washing machines and they all break down a couple of times at least during the 5 year period often at about 2/3 years old
Re cars, you will only often read the negative comments
Is it worth the risk of buying a warranty or not, only you can decide.
Personally, if I could afford a nice, mid range car I'd take out a warranty if I was going to keep the car but go with one of the top providers but even then the above applies. (But may be not, unsure as had one before and the more I read into it the more waste of money it seemed, but that is my take on it)

Put the £1500 in a savings acc. Then use it for any repairs required.
Not quite sure how many parts will be over £600 & why use a Volvo dealer on a 6 year old car. Use a recommended local independent.
Join a Volvo user forum. Which will give good advice on common problems & also fixing them. 👍Life in the slow lane2
