Cut your losses. You've probably lost your original capital, don't lose more.“So we beat on, boats against the current, borne back ceaselessly into the past.”0

I don't know what WRT means in this context but if you hold sterling in a savings account with a UK-regulated institution, what would that have to do with (a) Bitcoin, (b) the EU/EC, or (c) the USA? As you said initially, it just doesn't make sense....Porshae12 said:The money was paid into the Afbankplc into a savings account.I withdrew money by WRT and expecting g money to go into my Barclays Account and then I got that message account suspended until I paid them a certain amount in BitcoinMy account is in GBP.2 -
Porshae12 said:Hello I invested in Bitcoin of my own accord and made back a good investment. The money was paid into the Afbankplc into a savings account.I withdrew money by WRT and expecting g money to go into my Barclays Account and then I got that message account suspended until I paid them a certain amount in BitcoinMy account is in GBP.Any help would be appreciated, I've recently lost my husband and been diagnosed with cancer. If by "Afbankplc", you mean Access Financial Bank plc at afbankplc.com, then I'm afraid I have bad news. This appears to be a fake bank, which says it is a member of the FSCS and is FCA authorised, but whose head office is apparently in Richmond, VA, and is fraudulently using the FCA registration number and company number of Co-op bank. According to the FCA register, Co-op bank does not use this trading name. Looking at the website, it seems to have been cloned from somewhere else. Several of the links do not work. The company logo looks very unprofessional and has been added to the website in the wrong aspect ratio. The website itself has been set up using the discount domain registrar Namecheap. This is not a service a genuine bank would ever use. It was originally set up just 2 years ago.A legitimate bank would NEVER ask you to pay a transfer fee in Bitcoin. A genuine FCA authorised bank would never set up a GBP savings account for you located in the USA. WRT presumably means Wire Transfer, which is to say the least an unusual thing to do from a savings account.I'm sorry, but your money is gone. You should immediately cease communications with the people who are trying to extract more money out of you. It may be helpful to review the information and advice provided by Citizen's Advice here: https://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/consumer/scams/what-to-do-if-youve-been-scammed/If you were to pay the fee, the fraudsters would just come up with other reasons you need to pay more money to release your investment, until you run out of money, then you'll never hear from them again.17
