Linked address on Credit Report is connected to identity fraud - how remove?

Last Friday a credit card provider called to say my dormant card had been used and I was the subject of apparent identity fraud. They confirmed the account details would revert to mine, the account would close and I wasn’t liable. They suggested I register with a credit reference agency and review my credit report which I did. All looked OK. Yesterday (Sunday, 2 days later) I received an email indicating my latest “statement” was available. Logging in I was able to see some of the recent fraudulent transactions were in Leeds (I’ve never lived in Leeds). This morning (Monday) I find a Leeds “Linked Address”, added just the previous day, in my credit report section of the credit agency. This address was provided by the same credit card provider who 3 days earlier had called to say I had been the victim of identity fraud. When I called to ask how and why they released this address they weren’t able to provide a satisfactory answer nor tell me whether they could/would ‘unrelease’ this information immediately. They said they would attempt to expedite an update of information connected to the account and that I should also contact the credit reference agency to raise a ‘dispute’.

How is the release of this “Linked Address” by the credit card provider possible when their Fraud Dept knows it is connected to fraud? Why can’t they pull it back as easily as they released it? Could the fraudster benefit from having this information made available? And is there a way of having it removed form the public domain ASAP? To know where this fraudster lives and have their address staring at me on my own credit report page is disconcerting to say the least!

They're already removing it, but as a back up, dispute it via the CRAs.

The transmission of the data from card provider to ratings agency could easily have been weeks before the latter applied that data update and made it visible to you, as such processes aren't carried out instantaneously in real time, so just because the card company notified you of the fraud on Friday and the agency showed the update on Sunday doesn't signify that there was a release of data already known to be fraudulent....
