Anti Bug Netting Any Good?

Options
Would like to protect a fruit tree from bugs but because the netting to stop bugs is so tight i wonder if it could be counter productive and prevent the fruit getting enough sunlight to ripen?

Bug netting comes in various grades, so it's not clear which you mean. The really fine stuff keeps even very small creatures like aphids out. Either way, insects are usually beneficial to pollination, so netting would need to be applied after fruit set.
